City Attorney Jeff Kirkpatrick Announces Mayoral Candidacy
I am excited to announce my candidacy for Mayor. Great things have happened in Lincoln in the last decade. I have been blessed to have played a role in that progress. I have a renewed vision for our Lincoln moving forward, to build a future for all of us.
It is time we make sure Lincoln’s future is one where all children, families, business, and working people do well. In order to do that, we must get back to the basics - the foundations that truly make communities great - our streets, our roads, our public safety, our children’s education, a strong economy, and providing all people the tools they need to succeed.
As mayor, I will continue my positive, decisive leadership. When our children were threatened by smoke shops selling K-2, a synthetic form of marijuana, as City Attorney, I took immediate action. I ended it. That is the same creative, problem-solving approach we need in our next mayor.
We are embarking on an exciting campaign to talk with residents across our city about where we would like our city to go. I am committed to a fair Lincoln that works for all of us.
